Home Appraisal RochesterThe New York State Division of Licensing Services regulates real estate appraisers and home appraisal services in Rochester and all of NY. Those offering real estate appraisal services must be certified and licensed by the NY licensing office. Check here for other New York home appraisers. The board has identified three categories of real estate appraisers. State Licensed Real Estate Appraisers must have completed 2,000 hours of experience over a period of at least 24 months. 1,500 hours of that experience must be from appraisals of residential properties. State Certified Residential Appraisers (Home Appraisal) must include 2,500 hours of appraisals of residential properties. Residential experience must contain experience in single family (including single co-op or condo), two-four family, or other residential experience (vacant lot/farm). There are additional licensing requirements. State Certified General Appraisers must have 1000 hours of experience on appraisals of general properties.
