Home Appraisal RenoCommission of Appraisers of Real Estate regulates home appraisal in Reno and Las Vegas Nevada. The commission has classified real estate appraisal licensing as follows: Out-of-State Licensees - who do not have to verify their real estate appraisal experience, however they must show that they have completed 3 hours of education in Nevada Appraisal Law present a certified Letter of Good Standing from the state in which they are a licensed real estate appraiser. Registered Interns must have 75 hours of classroom instruction in real estate appraisal subjects, of which 15 hours must USPAP standards. Licensed Residential Appraisers must prove that they have at least 90 hours of academic instruction in real estate appraisal, including 15 hours of USPAP standards and 2,400 hours of experience in real estate appraisal practice. Certified Residential Appraisers must have achieved 120 hours of successful academic instruction in real estate appraisal including 15 hours of USPAP standards. They must also complete 2,500 hours of appraisal work within a two year period and that must include 500 hours of work on complex property evaluation. Certified General Appraisers must successfully complete 180 hours of academic instruction in real estate appraisal.
