New Jersey Home AppraisalNew Jersey's State Real Estate Appraiser Board regulates real estate appraisers in New Jersey. and would licensing for real estate appraisers, residential appraisers, certified general appraisers and apprentice appraisers. Real Estate Appraiser Apprentices must complete 75 hours of classroom training in courses related to basic principles, uniform standards (USPAP), and other courses on real estate market value influences, economics etc. Residential Real Estate Appraisers (home appraisal) must have completed 90 hours of classroom training in selected real estate appraisal topics, and have 2,000 hours of experience in real estate appraisal work. Certified Residential Real Estate Appraisers (home appraisal) must have successfully graduated from courses having 120 hours of training. They must also have achieved 2,500 hours of real property appraisal work in no fewer than 2 years. General Real Estate Appraisers must have successfully passed the board approved certification exam for general appraisers. They must also have 180 hours of successful classroom training and 3000 hours of real estate appraisal experience in not less than 30 months of work.
